I began teaching at Sir John in 2011. I am a Red Seal Endorsed (RCE) Cook, having studied in Charlottetown, PE at the Culinary Institute of Canada. I also have a BA (Hons.) in Politics and International Development Studies from the University of Winnipeg. In addition to teaching I coach the Culinary and Baking Skills Clubs through Skills Canada and have taken students to the Canadian Skills National Competition (CSNC) for Cooking and Baking since 2008. I sit on the National Technical Committee for Cooking helping to organize and develop the scope and competition for the CSNC which happens each year at the beginning of June. In my classroom I encourage students to expand and extend their ideas on food through theory and cooking.
