Morning Announcements for: Tuesday November 10th, 2015

DUE TO ALLERGIES WITH STUDENTS AND STAFF, PLEASE KEEP YOUR PERFUMES AND BODY SPRAYS TO A MINIMUM.

GRAD RINGS Graduation rings have changed!  Tell your story this year with a new style, new stones, new metal finishes and the all new class tags.  Go online to www.jostens.com to see all of the new offerings this year.  Brochures are available in the office.  Jostens ring man will be here to help you place your order on Thursday Dec. 3rd at lunch hour and after school and Friday Dec. 4th at lunch hour only.  There is a $60 deposit due at the time of ordering.

SR. GIRLS BASKETBALL Sr. girls practices will begin Tuesday Nov. 10th and run Tuesday’s and Thursday’s from 5:00-6:30.

BADMINTON Practices have started.  If you are interested in playing badminton for the Sir John team, you will need to start attending practices right away because it is a very short season.  Practices are Tuesday’s and Thursday’s from 7:00-8:30pm.

SR. BOYS BASKETBALL Sr. boy’s practices will run Monday’s and Wednesday’s 7:00pm-8:30pm.

COMM HOURS: SALVATION ARMY CHRISTMAS KETTLE CAMPAIGN Make a difference this holiday season by volunteering to ring the bells at Walmart, Canadian Tire and the downtown liquor store.  Kettle hours are Thursday and Friday evenings from 4:00-8:00pm, Saturday’s 10:00am-8:00pm beginning November 19th and continuing until Dec. 24th.   If you are interested, contact James Moulton at jamesm@sanorth.ca or call 920-4673.

COMM HOUR OPPORTUNITY NACC is looking for volunteers at the box office during the day and especially between 3:00-6:00pm.  Anyone interested, please contact summer at NACC.

GSA GROUP The GSA group will meet in room 22 at 11:30am every Thursday.

OLD CELL PHONES One of our Sir John students is collecting old cell phones for a project. If you have any old cell phones you want to get rid of please drop them at the office, Ms. Prescott’s science room or Ms. Robson’s room.

KENYA MEETING There will be a Kenya meeting every Thursday at 11:40 in room 34.

NEED COMM HOURS? Are you looking for COMM hours or just looking to give back to the Community?  The Canadian Cancer Society is looking for volunteers to help in the office in preparation for upcoming events.  Please contact Nikki at the Canadian Cancer Society if you would like to help out.  920-4428.

NORTHERN YOUTH ABROAD Any youth between 15-20 can apply for this excellent opportunity to live and volunteer in Southern Canada and abroad for six weeks during the summer. Application forms are in the office and deadline is November 10, 2015

BAND The band will meet every Friday at lunch.

CHALLENGE CUP Challenge Cup takes place on Wednesday, November 18. To help cheer on our hockey team November 18 will be a blue & yellow Falcon Spirit Day! Please wear blue and yellow!

SEWING AND BEADING CLUB Any females interested, this will happen every Thursday during lunch in room 38.

DRUMMING AND HAND GAMES This will be held Tuesday’s and Thursday’s afterschool from 3:45-4:45.

ENCOUNTERS WITH CANADA Anyone interested in going to Encounters with Canada or have any questions, please see Evelyne or Mr. Krause in guidance.  The cost is $675 for an all-inclusive trip of a lifetime to our Nation’s capital.

FALCONS FITNESS CENTRE The Fitness Centre will be open after school each day from 4-5pm with Thursdays being a girl’s only day. And will be open during lunch hours Monday to Thursday each week provided there is a staff supervisor available.  A membership will cost $40 for the year.

LOCKERS Please make sure that you clean out your lockers of food that may have been left inside.
